Tomorrow we go north, and west…

beach

We will walk where the land mingles with the sea, and the horizon stretches on for ever.

We will swim, risking frostbite, and cycle into gales that will make forward progress unlikely. We will swat midges and shiver in small tents as the rain rolls in off the mountains.

We will make our own little adventures and cook over sparkling driftwood campfires.

We will make memories.

And be grateful.

  1. There’s a great song you might like to track down. Its called “Edge of the World” by Drop the Box, with lyrics – “There’s a special place, where all our hearts rest, and it lies on the edge of the world. Miles and miles across the ocean depths, lies our home on the edge of the world. After all we’ve done and all we’ve seen, there’s still noplace we’d rather be .. then home, on the edge of the world …..”

We always play it coming off the ferry in the Outer Hebrides! It is still, in a multitude of ways, our home!

So if you are badly rained off in Harris, feel free to make our home your home to dry off – I gave Michaela our number, just in case!
