Proost needs your help!

Some of you may remember an organisation called Proost who previously published lots of material (liturgy, poetry, music, video, art etc.) that was gathered around the edge of church from small missional groups, alt worship gatherings and creatives who would have been unlikely to find support in the wider publishing world. Many of you will have used Proost’s labyrinth kit or have some of their books on your bookshelf, or come found yourself in or around some Proost creativity at Greenbelt festival or some other venue.

The organisation ran for a couple of decades, and was active in the UK, USA and Australia, but then slowed down and eventually ceased trading. There has been a lot of effort over the past year or so to revive Proost, as a community of creatives who are interested in the interface art, social justice and spirituality. This time, the focus has been on building community and connection, but we are now going through the process of setting up a company and moving towards limited publishing and making other materials available that arise from our community.

It is here that (hopefully!) some of you might be able to help. We need people who have skills that will help us to get Proost back onto a secure footing – we need directors and a treasurer for example. If anyone is interested in getting involved we would love to hear from you – you can message me below. It turns out that artistic types often need people who have more practical and reliable skill sets!

It goes without saying that it feels like we need our artists more than ever – to boldly engage with the world we are having to navigate. If not through organisations like Proost, how else will these people find support, encouragement or fellow travellers?

We all need a tribe!
